Looney Tunes

Originally created in 1929 to compete with Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse, they started as short cartoons. With famous characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety and Sylvester all being voiced by Mel Blanc, Looney Tunes is a classic cartoon series that is still being reproduced today. The famous catch phrases include: ‘Whats up Doc’, ‘That’s all folks’ and ‘ I tawt I saw a putty tat’. Some of the early episodes have been censored for its racial content, violence and portrayals of smoking, however this was changed in 2002 when it was agreed that to censor these parts would not be historically correct, as it was popular opinion at the time. A disclaimer now appears on DVD releases.
